as one of the list administrators, i can tell you that there are a number
of promoters out there who don't pay attention to the current rules of the
list:
1. don't post your event more than twice a week - and yes, we do get
subsribers to the list who email us personally to let us know that there
is excessive promotion on the list, and
2. don't post a conflicting event.
so adding new rules won't help.
to me, it is a weekly radio show - you should post it once a week. even
though they aren't really my rules, i feel the same about the weekly club
events. they should be posted once a week to the list. there is an actual
archives to the list that people can reference:
http://mailman.newdream.net/pipermail/dynagroove/
it is attached as a footer to each and every email that posts to the list,
and it is sorted 4 ways (by thread, date, author and subject!!).
as for allowing friday night events though...jesus, come on already. it is
the "dynagroove" list after all. there are plenty of other list servs and
promotional tools out there for your events.
let's put it this way, for those of you out there with your own websites
and elists (bodyrocks, futurehouse, vinyltribe, etc.) do you let
conflicting events go out to your subscribers? if you do or don't, why did
you decide on that?
zoki.
