On the track selection comments:
It's much easier to skip through a CD with 12-16 of your freshest/best tracks on it
than it would be to riffle through 100 records in the dark. With comparably less
pieces of media to look through (outside of those that choose to bring 2,000 tracks
on disc to gigs), it's much, much faster.
CD also presents the opportunity to play doubles and/or mix two tracks that would be
on the same side of a vinyl EP. This latter feature is especially nice for dub/vocal
remix mash-ups.
Both these points stated, who actually gives a shit about what the format is.
Watching someone change records is just as uneventful as CDs, that is if there isn't
an isolated booth hiding whatever the DJ's doing anyway.
