well now that i sifted through the avalanche of dyna-posts about the
village...i can't help but write this:
ok...i think this is the reason people roll their eyes and complain that
there is too much hype on dynagroove. the village was good but just being at a
spot outside don't make it "original". good day la was more original than
village (i know different type of parties), and it wasn't like it was THAT
original in the first place. i am tiring of this over the top stuff and thinking
seriously of quitting this mailing list because it's annoying to hear the
same person say "this was the best party EVER" about 4 different events in a
matter of 4 weeks...i don't consider "rah rah" reviews of a party a proper
review. it's more like a pep rally. and i don't mean to invite unfair or mean
comments about a party either...like the one about not having had their names
at the door...unless it wasn't an honest mistake but some confirmed shady
conduct, i don't need to hear about it. also, please stop the pretentious b.s.
(a. "for those who know"?? oh you're soooo coool!! b. jordan saying his
parties are about something different to help "this dying scene"? so you're
the great savior, huh? i'm sorry i don't think the scene is dying. i think
the scene changed and maybe you're trying to recapture an era that's long
past...but that's my opinion).
a review should be something personal and objective. if you just liked the
party, or you had a good time there but you have nothing else to say about it
then keep it to yourself, please. or at least keep it short. if there is
something objectively critical or interesting or new to review about a party,
or even the music, i'm all ears. even a funny story about something that
happened to you at the party would be way better than these current reviews.
not here to hurt anyone's feelings...i'm just saying that it's getting very
annoying. i commend all the promoters for their efforts including jordan who
def. made a big effort. i would just like the over the top hype to end.
after all, you're not car salesmen...
