I've got to agree with Aaron. ...and although, yes, most of us do just want to know about the house events, there are a lot of people on this list that might want to hear about that as well. I know that my roots are in electronic music, not just house...and Aaron's got a point about everything he said.
yeah, we can be house snobs, but no, we should never discredit any genre of music (well, except for country..haha)...we're all on this list for our love of music...without a deep love for MUSIC in general, none of us would love house as much as we do.
my point is...don't knock something just cause it's not what you're used to. :)
xo,
V

i never discredited the style, just didnt know such things were okay to post
here, no offence to tiesto i've heared his mixes and they're technically
well done its just that this is a house music list i thought?
if i wanted to know when tiesto would be in town i'd be on a different email
list ;)
just a pet peeve i guess, but too many people already confuse 'underground'
house with other styles of electronic dance, i'm a seperatist i guess!
trance djs: please move to the back of the bus! hehe just kidding..

I agree that this might be better advertised somewhere else, cause we all
know deep down we're house snobs, but.....
There is more to life and music than house, on the real. I'm not a Tiesto
fan or anything but in defense his music isnt really "trance." It's more
of an electronic hybrid that borrows from many styles of dance music from
trance to breaks to progressive to house to techno. It has a potentially
greater universal appeal. All his fame is founded though, I think. I
mean this guy draws HUGE crowds. I was in Miami for a couple of his sold
out shows last September and everyone from the kids to the "mature" club
people were going crazy for this guy.
I've never had the chance to fully :experience: one of his sets, but I'd
imagine that if you were paying attention to the programming and technical
aspects, you would be give at least a little respect.
Before I knew what was what my favorite record was BT's Remember. Lost
Tribe- Gamemaster, anyone, anyone? We all know that on this list we party
down with the funkiest, but it sort of pisses me off when people discredit
other types of music, especially other types of dance music. It is
usually those peeps that hate that have the most within themselves to
fear.
dear lord, what have i done,
