Dear dynaFolk,

Ugh. Who are these people and why am I kind of nauseous in the same
way I was when the chick from the first episode of The Bachelor was
crying to the guy when she got eliminated about how they'd always
share something special as long as she was alive? The display of such
wrongfully directed human emotion is erie, really.

I've been asking around to buddies and pals lately, of course-- so
I'll see you at Dynagroove, right?

Well, I got a few "wrong" responses to my upwardly inflected right.

Those of you who know me, whether you love me or hate me, you know
that every no is always followed up with a Pavlovian "why." Well, why
aren't these fools coming out to see Heather and Diz this weekend?

One key (un)reason(able response) that I just can't shake that I've
heard more than once...

"I just don't like 18 and up parties."

What?!

Wait... wait wait wait... what?!

This is perplexing to me. I search my head for meaning.

To me, the 18 and up party signifies the love for what is being
displayed, whatever it may be. In the case of our fair Dynagroove,
house music... the 18 and up event that is Dynagroove showcases a true
love, a holiday-like affair for those of whatever origin of being to
come out and shake.

The 18 and up eliminates in many cases that harsh venue closure at the
hour of alcohol's cease. The 18 and up eliminates (most) of the
incidental mindless hoochies with MaiTais (unless Cade invited you).
The 18 and up means that the younger little version of me and all of
you out there who is wandering around throughout LA looking for a
mindful place to put his or her tail in action has one.

Well, whatever. I like the 18 and up. The Hate-teen and up can stay
home for all I care, but lord all mighty I wish those losers would
take a wiff of what makes the concept so positive.

At 22, I'm glad Dynagroove is an 18+ event. And I will be there.

On behalf of myself, and of those who love house music no matter what
age+ you are, thanks to Cade for making Dynagroove as inclusive as
possible.

On another note, if like-- anyone can email me privately with like--
whatever the proper reasoning for disliking an 18+ event is... I'd
really like to know.

xo
PS(w): Those who know and love her, pray for Keesh! The canine
carouser got into a nasty bout with a pitbull last week and is now
recovering with dripping tube hanging from neck! All prayers,
religious and non, voiced and otherwise, are appreciated.
