There's something about heading out to a party with one thing going
over in your head... the way Benjamin signed off on the event info with
"Bring Love." I was groovin' to some kickin' track Liza Richardson was
playing on the radio before getting out of the car, which she said was
called something like, "Close to Intention." The intention was love.
Then, I found friends I haven't seen in a while the moment I stepped
inside, and more downstairs (really underground). I looked up, (or
opened my eyes), at one point and big smiling Cade was handing me a
flyer - OF COURSE - how could you not do Free Thinkin 5 yr? And M3 - I
first loved that guy some years ago at Burning Man, at the Mushroom
camp (at least that's what we called it.... but it was awfully big &
tall to be a simple mushroom... it was wobbly too - you could climb up
and inside it, but then had to wait in line to get back down and out -
once you, and everybody else, realized it was three stories high and
held together with electrical tape - but I don't think M3 had anything
to do with that). I kicked up some major dust and came back the next
nights looking for more. I track him down when I'm in the Bay Area,
(now, Pink on Wednesdays in SF & Velvet Shop in San Jose on Thursdays).
So, it was homey. It was packed and hot and sexy and fun, but, I hope
this isn't too personal and I'm going to regret this, at one point,
just scanning my body - feelings wise - getting loose, I felt some
tension, kind of behind my heart. I thought, "Hummmmm, heart
tension..... blockage, (could that be from), judgment, (which leads
to), separation? (So...) Stop judgment, (so that there's) no
separation, (and all is one and) no more tension, (around the heart or
anywhere)." This is just the way it is for me at these things. I
danced so hard, with everyone else. I heard my friend say, "Get it
out!" And I did. Don't repress joy. Benjamin and birthday boy
Marcus, all the way through the first half of DJ Soul, kicked my ass.
I needed to make sure I had enough life left in my feet to work the car
pedals home. I planned appropriately and brought a complete change of
clothes in the car. If only there was a shower I could have just
waited for a tamale at Fiesta Broadway which was at the front door.
Next year. Thanks you guys for getting it right and giving us the
opportunity to share it with you. How good do we have it?!
