this is a late review but i'm still recovering from  coach-trentreznorella.
i stopped by the good life last thursday  early so i can move on to see roy
davis at concorde.  i've been  going to gl pretty regularly because it's
walking
distance for me and it's been  consistently a good vibe night w/ good music.
for example, the last  get down party was very good, with people dancing
early
and all night long  to gravy joes and annand's music.   i was sad to hear
that  imad is going monthly but happy to hear the reasons.

the party started typical, you know fun, good vibe good music, but nothing
out of the ordinary.  there was still that abnoxious bartender, and maybe
even
some sound issues with the highs a little too loud.  also, a few more  guys
than girls.  still, i was having a good time.  just as i was  about to head
out
to go to concord, i'm not exactly sure how, but it was like  someone flipped
a switch.  a good party suddenly turned into an awesome,  almost
unforgettable
one.  sound became perfect. the place had gotten nice  and packed, but not
overflowing.  suddenly there were more women than men,  and hot ones to
boot.
the music was intensely good with juster on sax, a  guitarist who i don't
know
and percussions.  everyone was dancing.   huge smiling faces.  i probably got
a little trashed too.  all the djs  were good, but then mike tello took over
and it just went off.  everyone  stayed there until the lights went on and we
all kept going for another 2 or 3  tracks.  by then everyone was asking where
the afterparty was..

such a good night i never went to see roy davis.  but i was thinking,  right
when i was in the middle of the dance floor that someone else is having a
great time to r.davis and cade's beats...la really is that lucky to have so
much
local talent.  i am surprised that there hadn't been any 'thank yous' back
and forth on the dynalist because it was such a good night, so i figured i
share  my experience.  i'm not a good review writer.  i hope i was able to
explain the night well enough.
