i think that it's a good idea....an events only list...  there was that 
rc
events list that was going out, but it died.

anyway, that's not what i imagine this or any discussion list to be.  i
think that the fact that there is sometimes drama and stupid/random 
things
posted keeps it interesting, gives people something to discuss, and
prevents it from getting old and tired.  it adds something to the
underground culture.  with an events only list, you cant get people's
personal account of the night/event.  that is what unites us, hearing
someone else's perspective, even if the experience is not the same.

the fluff of emails could get annoying if you don't get the digest; i
would imagine.  but that is always fixable.
