I am sure there is a lot of talk going down about what is happening with
free thinkin. So this is to clear everything up and explain what and why
things have gone the way it has. Please forward this email to all
bulletin boards and other lists that will find this information useful.
We need to get the word out to everyone.

Free Thinkin after 5 years of running in Hollywood will be moving to
downtown LA. This to us (Louis and I) has its perks and downfalls. We
did not want to move but after the last year or so it has become apparent
that it is a necessity. I am one who loves lists so I am going to run
down the list of reasons Free Thinkin will be moving.

(The list in no particular order)

-	Last month the owner of Boardner.s informed us she was moving Free
Thinkin to Thursdays. Louis and I told her it was something we were not
interested in. She then started to throw numbers at us trying hard to get
us to move. Which brings me to my next point

- The club had no idea what we were about. Constantly we were told that
we needed to bring our numbers up and that we were doing things wrong.
We were told we should be putting ads in magazines and hiring Go-Go
dancers. Booking bands on the patio? At one point offering a "Free
Thinkin Panties" giveaway!? Well now that I think about it that could have
been fun but anyway.. Louis and I started this club with the intention of
giving a constant platform for the house music enthusiasts every Friday.
It was also supposed to be free and worry free for us. But now it has
become somewhat stressful with bar owners and Talent always upset. We
were forced to start charging to satisfy the bar.

-	"My staff hates working Fridays. You have the worst crowd, the
cheapest crowd, and too much riffraff." This is what the Bar owner has
told me. She also said that you guys don.t tip and were very problematic.
This I found very absurd. I know two of the bartenders loved us and still
do to this day and are very upset we are leaving. After some
investigation we have found that the main complainer is Aaron the greasy
looking New Zealander in the inside bar. He was heard bragging to other
staff that he "finally got rid of them." SO make sure to never go to his
bar and if you do don't tip him. Please bring all your business to chuck
on the patio. He actually likes our music and what we do.

-	The Security! Granted there are two or three guys on staff that
are reasonable. But in general the Boardner's security has been very
aggressive and too physical. I have seen them get violent where violence
could have easily been avoided. I have seen them slam people against the
wall and break noses. I have seen them drag people out of club in
headlocks and by the hair. I have seen them pick people up and throw them
down on the street. They have gotten in fights and dented cars and taken
no responsibility. They have been very aggressive with some girls. In
fact have even scared off a couple of my friends that say since they did
not give their number to a certain security guard that he makes them
uncomfortable. I have reported to management many times but they seem to
do nothing about it. I have told the owner about some incidents and I was
always told .That.s not the way my guys told me it went down.. The
security teams holds grudges and use mafia like tactics to get their way.
A case of young boys with two much power in their hands. All be it very
unimportant power.

-	The Bar would constantly raise the price of drinks with out
notifying us. Also raise our bar guarantee without notifying us.
Constantly doing stuff with no communication with us at all. Louis and I
had an on going joke .What surprise will we get tonight?.

-	On an up and up note. Downtown LA may be the place to be. There
is legislation in that the chief of police is backing up. To further the
pursuit of revitalizing the downtown area there are talks of extending the
Liquor licenses to serve till 4 AM!!!! Once this happens all the downtown
spots are going to be grabbed up. It is best that we get in early.

-	It is time to bring Free Thinking back underground. To that tiny
hole in the wall feeling that it started with. More of a for "those in
the know" type of vibe. 5 years ago Free Thinkin would be at capacity at
around 100 people. It now a 400 person club. We never really wanted to
go that big. When it happened we were excited but then the club expected
us it increase the numbers over 10x. Slowly with sadness we saw Free
Thinking loose that underground vibe.

-	At the new spot the drink prices will be back down to reasonable
level. I was told beers will be $4-$5 depending on the brand and the most
expensive well drink will not exceed $7. I am not even sure what the
prices at Boardner.s is now but I believe Casey.s is a lot cheaper.

-	Change is good.

This Friday June 3rd will be the last night we run at Boardner.s. We hope
you can come out and support us for our last night. We will then take a 1
week break and start up at the new venue on the 17th.
