JAMES CURD rocked my ass from 2 - 3. Unfortunately that's all I got to
hear of his set, as I was out getting more alcohol for you drunkards, but
that one solid hour was sheer bliss.
As soon as i heard "Wanderer" I knew some shit was about to go down. I
RAN inside only to be greeted by mid-90's Chicago classics, one after
another, after another. Do you have a time in your dancing "career" that
you remember as your FAVORITE time for music? Yeah, well 1994-1997
Chicago house records encapsule that sound for me. I have been DYING to
hear those records for SO long. I thought for sure I was going to have to
wait for someone in LA to book Terry Mullan at a house party to be able to
hear thos records, but alas, James Curd delivered them to me by surprise.
Thank you to the people who got out of my way for those 60 minutes. There
were chunks of 5-7 minutes at a time when i was dancing with my eyes
completely closed...I do that sometimes when I am dancing in bliss... so,
sorry if I stepped on your foot or crashed into you or anything like that.
It happened a few times, oops!
Bring back Mr. Curd again soon, please!
Listening to old mix TAPES,
Amy Ricketts
