Honestly, I wasn't super excited for Ultragroove. The times I heard
Greenskeepers in the past year or so didn't really impress, so I had no
personal hype going on. But, damn, James Curd didn't need any hype.
Anyone that was there knows he just put it down like a pro.

The venue was dope. 5 minutes from where I live, so I was stoked. I love
a small one room party. No where else to go but the portolet and the
patio. It kept all the love inside and in one place. And art on the
walls is just....classy.

My favorite thing about the party was being able to hear people's hoots
and hollers caused by the music. Last weekend for me was the big party
atmosphere...the loudest thing in the room was the music, with the DJ
towering over the crowd like a sultan in every room. Ultragroove brought,
for me, a more organic party vibe. The love was bouncing off the walls
and all over everyone.

Speaking of love, did anyone notice how many hot girls were at
Ultragroove? I felt a crush forming every time I saw someone new. I
think I felt it move once. :]

There was also this really cool musical moment when James totally mixed
into a track that was slow and not housey. The crowd seemed caught off
guard and at that point a lot of people went outside. I don't remember
what song it was, but whatever. It was so hot though cause he brought
back the funk seamlessly. Does anyone else remember this? ::crazy::

My buddy that came with was totally impressed. He is normally into DnB
and that kind of DJ Dan Donald Glaude hard house, but at the end of the
night he was praising James, Chicago, and the wonderful funkiness we call
our own.

Thanks Cade, Zoki, Sara, Violet, James, the bodyrocks, Edward Armendarez,
the girl that stepped in the toilet paper, and everyone else that made the
night a great memory.
