[Dynagroove] WTF! Does no one care about DIZ anymore???

Are you guys serious? LA sucks big time!!! LA knows NOTHING about House
except for a handful of people. NYC is the foundation for what we call
House music so to dis the city that gave birth to the original form of House
(a.k.a Disco) you'd have to be pretty ignorant about this music and its
roots. LA knows tech, funky or whatever other stupid label people in the
scene give it. I'm sorry but Diz is NOT House IMO and I consider it to be
electronic dance music for the younger crowd that is new to the scene or
those that never grew out of their "candy kid raver" mentality. By all
means, NYC defines what House music and they pave the way to what it will be
in the future NOT Los Angeles. My two cents.

In response to Cade's commentary on the house scene in NYC, he indeed is
correct: LA f-ing rocks.

...but new york doesn't completely blow...

I too have been in New York since the end of July, and it took me a few
tries to find some places that I enjoyed immensely. One of the best parties
i've been to in a LONG time is on Wednesdays at Sin Sin, it's called
Soulgasm. If you ever come to NY, you GOTTA check that one out. I don't
even know the names of the DJs but the music is always on point, and the
crowd is even better. i mean, really.

Glenn Underground rocked me last week-- i didn't recognize a single record,
but my ass was on the dance floor all night (maybe why I didn't see you
there, Cade? hmmmmm...?)

The outdoor day parties have been off the hook, too-- one of 'em in Brooklyn
at Fort Greene Park on Sundays (live vocalists!), and also PS1 in Queens on
Saturdays was a great place to chill.

Saw Gene Farris a couple weeks ago too-- he was playing a GREAT set, but
there wasnt that many people there, which was a shame. ah well, gave me
more room to dance! =) I talked to gene later that night and he said that
the promoter just isn't cuttin it, which is why the place isnt going off.

So it took a little tenacity to find some proper places to go with a good
crowd, but i do have to agree-- the LA house scene is pretty much where it's
at when compared with NY. Per capita, we have a much better ratio of
sucky:kickass.

my $0.02

and i still care about Diz.
