I can't dissagree with what you are saying here. I love those parties
and wish they were here like they were back in the 90's. True that. I
love and respect all the djs you just mentioned on here. I'm even workin
on somthing right now to bring Tony back. He had a detour in life and
had to take care of some things but we need him in the scene again. I
apologize if I offended anyone on here. If you know me, I am a very
mellow and easy person to work with. I just reacted cuz I bust my ass
putting things together with as many people in LA as possible and since
I'm in this city, I want to protect, nurture and cultivate it. In all
fairness to Cade, maybe those weeks in NY were bad weeks and any city can
have that, I have had very good experiences in NY too, but to say LA
sucks is a narrow point of view, due to the fact that there are alot of
people enjoying what is taking place at the moment. If the city 'sucks'
then let's do somthing about it. Pick up where our fallen heroes left
off. Tony can't do it for ever or by himself. Let's stop crying about
it and bring somthing else to LA that you or others think we need. I'm
all for it and would even help you do it. I teamed up with Nick Alvarado
cuz he plays that east coast sound I am so fond of. I play a different
set and together we encompass many of the sounds of LA underground House
music. I think it's beautiful. And yes I think it's House. Rylan had
some good points and so did Pat. We are still defining the music but
let's not forget what we are all out here for. Bringing the music to the
people. You do that no matter what obstacles are in your way. Any
problem or dissagreement with others in the scene is miniscule by
comparison to the responsibility you have to the people. They work hard
all week to get some kind of release on the weekend on that dancefloor no
matter how they get it. Deep, dark minimul, techy, chunky... forget the
labels cuz yeah they are stupid, it's dance music and people come to
dance and enjoy. I applaude your efforts and anyone else here doing
somthing good for the people. I hope this brings us close in
understanding to better do our jobs. Again sorry for the rant Cade. In
know your tired of it but this is growth here. Peace.

Btw, Marques got up BECAUSE of Tony Largo and DYMK and Candleabra.
There were plenty of great clubs in LA before Tony but it was him that
put LA on the House map in my opinion NOT Marques. He just doesnt get
the credit he deserves and I find that to be shameful. Marques does a
great job for LA so Im not knocking him but Tony does has done a lot as
well and has always been a quiet guy behind the scenes letting others
have a chance without asking for anything in return. That is a DJ,
promoter, and person I respect. A few of those DJs that come to
mind
Wayne Lyons, Lamech, Tony Powell, Teddy Q. Zamora, Jerry Flores,
Miguel Placensia and yes, Marques Wyatt. Tony brought some of the best
acts in the 90s with DYMK and THAT is what House is in my opinion. The
DJs and artists that played/performed there were deep and to me House IS
deep. Times do change and sounds change so I can deal with it but it
doesnt mean I have to like it and most of the music I like has come from
and is coming out of New York.
Peace.

Oh brother. Where do I even begin with this? Sergio, you dont know me
so I do now what LA has to offer and like I said in a previous e-mail it
does have its great parties but overall as a city in my opinion it
sucks. Yes, I used to go to DYMK all the time. Yes, I used to go to
Inspiration and yes, I used to go before it was Inspiration when it was
Believe. I was there before it was off the ground at Juicy Beats. Ask
Jose. FTWK is one of the VERY few that are doing it correctly out here
and Rudy, Robert, and the rest of the people involved in helping them put
their events together bring out quality acts.
Sergio, before I even continue responding to this I think it would be
best if you just asked Rudy or Jose or Tony L if I forgot about what they
did and do. LA has had its ups and downs and thats how it will always
be which is why I dont think LA gets the respect it deserves because
there is so much negativity in it. Everything is about cliques in LA.
What happened to people just going out to party JUST to party? LA is
more of a novella (soap opera) in my opinion. A lot of it is just drama
and Im so over that. People are waaaaaaaay too sensitive about every
thing. Thanks, but I like the way it used to be done back in the day
where it was just a party not a friggin fashion show or a soap opera
filled with colorful characters. The early nineties was when LA had it
going on and ever since then its just gone downhill.

Sorry to add to the waste of e-mail space but what an igorant thing to
say "LA sucks???" what are you talking about. This past weekend alone
was off the hook. I guess it's hard to see it so far away from Santa
Ana.
I can't speak too much for clubs but the LA underground scene is one of
the richest in the world, in culture, music, styles... So many hard
working people out here putting things together and making it happen. I
am a bit shocked and at a loss for words.
How has Marques Wyatt been rockin DEEP for so many years (with plenty NY
djs) and even had to move to a bigger place cuz people did not fit at
Vynil anymore. Did you forget 'Does Your Momma Know'? Inspiration? 'For
Those Who Know'? Even the Boo Williams show earlier this year pulled at
least 200-300 people.
I am from Chicago, yes the home of house music but like the weather it
changes. I have been back and fourth since then and it's not the same as
anymore. You can't keep playing the same old trax over and over. Abe
Duque from NY said it the best 'New York, What Happened?'. Yes NY has a
strong acid tech side that not enough people talk about cuz it's
underground.
I love LA cuz it has so many styles of music and multiple events going on
everyday of the week. And we get such an interesting crowd (especially
after 3am) I like to think that LA does not have a sound (except for DOC
of course) but have you been to a DOC party and say that it sucks? With
600 people jumpin till ???am. What about Sacred Grounds? Spanning over
10+ years of solid underground parties. The last party with Farina and
J-dub pulled about 1500 people. We have paries at the park and even at
the Getty Center. LA is very strong a the moment so I don't see your
point.
You have valid arguments about the way music could or should be going,
and that's perfectly fine, but blanket statments are unintelligent and
only make you look ignorant and bitter. Leads me to believe you are not
happy with LA for whatever reason and as we know 'misery loves company'.
All you did was pissed off a bunch of hard working promoters and djs in
our great city. Even the ones that play 'East Coast House'. Sorry for
being negative, it's not my style and sorry for waste of e-mail space but
I felt that I needed to say something.
