I want to personally thank all the people that came out to the Speakeasy
Release Party this past saturday on Aug 19th. We had tons of fun and
everything worked out well. All the bartendrs were dressed in sexy
1920's attire. The party took place in a virgin loft location with a
rooftop smoking patio and a great view of the city. I heard another
party happend there a few months ago but it was on another floor of the
same building. Still a great place.
Macadamion came on first to warm up the floor with the mellow warm up
house, Joesh came on next and did a great job picking up the pace and
bringing that chunky vibe we like so much (thanks Joesh). Nick brought
the soulfull/disco/samba and 1920's swing house to give us the speakeasy
vibe. I came in next with a few classics, like Mark Krans, Daje and
Adonis from 88, then moved into the deeper tech sound to set up Grant.
By the time Grant was going on the crowd was pumped and ready. He killed
it. From the first record to the last record. One amaizing set. Then
around 5am, Stan Min jumped on to drop the minimal acid tech house.
Perfect end to a perfect night.
I counted the wristbands at the end of the night and it showed we pulled
about 170 people. Just enough to break even and loving it. We took a
risk by bringing out Grant Dell (expensive and not very known dj) but I'm
glad we did cuz he played an amaizing set that night and all the people
there were glued to the dancfloor. We recorded it and we will post it on
the speakeasy site soon, in case you missed it. Thanks to all the heads
that came out like Marty, Lou, Cade and many others. Look out for the
next event: Soul Glo, in the works and see you on the dancefloor. If you
were there could you please give us any feedback. Good or bad. It helps
alot when designing future events. Thanks again.
Also tonight, if you are in or around the Inland Empire, or just looking
for a free place to listen to House music and get your drink on. Come
out to "HOME" a funky place to get your house fix on tues nights. I will
be droppin a guest spot with my homie Nic Alvarado. Taking place from
10-2am @ Worthington's Tavern, 3587 University Ave. Riverside CA. Along
with residents: Joel Martinez and Amanda J.
