  Foolish Felix Dickinson Biog.and Discography

Felix has been on the scene for a long time; he began operating the lights at Harveys now legendary Moist night, and helping shift the big yellow speakers of the Tonka sound system from the Zap nightclub down onto the beach for the after parties. When the Tonka speakers finally blew Felix took it upon himself to organise the after parties for the monthly Zap nights, recruiting sound systems from Brighton including Positive Sounds, Baby Boom, and anything he could really get together.

At 20 Felix organised a four day free festival in Sussex. Collaborating with the D.I.Y. sound system from Nottingham, and calling on other D.Js from the Tonka stable, including Markie Mark who had just returned from San Francisco. The Police roadblocks and helicopters couldnt stop the party, as it was pre-Criminal Justice Act, and 4,000 people danced all weekend.

In 1992 Felix moved to Brighton where he got together with a number of close friends to form the monthly Slack nights which he also D.jed at. Continuing Tonkas tradition of Monday night debauchery, with the obligatory party down on the beach or some local warehouse (anyone remember the Sainsbury parties) till day break. Slack lasted a good few years, travelling across the country, and maintaining good relations with the D.I.Y. crew.

When Slack finally split it allowed Felix to change direction, and to set up the Ugly Music record label with friend and local record shop owner Tony Lee. The label released music from K.Alexi, Underground Evolution, D.J. Harvey and Jaime Read, among others. It was at this time that Felix began his next and most long-lasting D.J. residency at the Joint nightclub with Jaime (L.H.A.S) and Bobby (Soft Rocks) where he played every month from 95 to 2000.

Since his move from the South Coast to London in 2000, Felix has concentrated more on music production, going under the names, Tackleheed, Foolish Fellas, LHAS Inc., Foolish and Sly, Foolish and Shacra, Das Etwas and Snakeskin. While still making time for a bit of international D.Jing, mainly his yearly trip to Nevada desert for the Burning Man Festival, and to play for Life-force in Japan and India.
