OK guys you gotta come check out the free thinkin this friday.  We Have a 
very special first time appearance by a very VERY VERY good performer. 
Non other then RICK PRESTON!!

  Born in Washington, DC, Rick Preston traveled the States before settling 
in the Bay Area in '87. In '88, having already proved himself a capable 
alternative DJ, Rick Preston developed a penchant for house music. He soon 
acquired a number of residencies in the Bay Area and began building a name 
for himself alongside early Bay Area dance pundits such as DJ Garth, DJ 
Spun, and Doc Martin. Throughout the '90s, Rick Preston headlined parties 
in and around San Francisco and in many other dance-friendly cities across 
the States. His four-deck sets with Julius Papp and DJ Spun at Soul'd Out 
in San Jose are fondly remembered.

As a producer, Rick Preston's motto of quality not quantity has stood him 
in good stead with some superb labels, notably Glasgow Undergound, home to 
Mateo & Matos, Romanthony, and Neon Heights. His most recent releases are 
his second release on Seattle's Viva! Recordings, "Cha!", and a second 
release, co-produced by Jay-J, on Chicago label After Hours. He has also 
releases on Freeze Records, Big Big Trax, and BCE.

The first Viva! release (Altruism EP) was incredibly successful with house 
DJs across the board. "Spring Fling" made it onto Mark Farina's San 
Francisco Sessions mixed CD, and "Body Move" was picked by Jeno for his By 
The People mixed CD entitled Rising To The Top. Rick Preston's music is 
brimming with rich sensual chords, creative drum programming, and original 
samples.
