Sorry I missed it Violet. Kari and i faded @ Farmers Market drinking some beer with friends early in the evening and I never could recover. Age and parenthood does that to you (you will see soon enough, my friend).
Sorry to hear that you're ending it but hey, whether it's temporary or for good, I understand. All i know is I made it to one violet party, brought 4 people with me to that one and everyone paid full price (the one in the valley, if you recall). So I know the rant is not about me...=)
Hope to see you and your man this Thursday. One drink on the house for the celebarting the end of an era and a new beginning? what do you say?
Take care.

Yes, I still reign as the queen of the almighty virgin venue.
I wanted to thank everyone for coming out on Saturday night. I couldn't believe
that for once instead of people going outside to the patio to cool off, they
were coming back inside for the ac. Damn, it was sooo hot out. We hit a lot of
bumps that day...myspace and dynagroove were both down, so a lot of people
couldn't get directions, my computer crashed and I lost the whole guest list
(yet I managed to remember 77 of the names by memory...my memory is a lot better
than I thought), and some other things that happened the day of. ...oh, and the
guy who showed up with the glowsticks on a string and kept hitting people with
them (on accident, but still)...we ahd to ask that guy about 4 times to either
stop flailing the glowsticks or go outside with them. We had to try to explain
that this wasn't a huge rave, etc etc...lol...it was pretty funny...poor guy
looked like he wanted to cry when I told him he couldn't do that though...he
didn't understand that no one there liked them. by t
he end of the night he was pretty into just dancing and got over the glowsticks
and even walked up and apologized.
Overall, it turned out pretty darn good for what obstacles we had that day.
...and boy was I impressed by Cade & Toddley's set. I really thought since it
was their first time on the 2x4 that I would hear a lot more mistakes than that!
Good job boys! Hoang Luu warmed up the decks and the people that were there
early enough seemed pretty happy to get to hear it...I know I was having fun
dancing to his set. After Hoang was Nic Alvarado & Laurence Parra's versus set.
Nic won it, hands down! The last time Laurence played at uv, he had one of the
most memorable sets, but I think Nic blew him out of the water this time around.
Cade & toddley came on after that, then came Bodyrock...this seemed to be the
time when everyone got a little crazy...then Vanyo came on and I must say, it
was a bit different of a set than I am used to hearing him spin. I had set him
up to spin in the a.m. since he spins more minimal house, however, he managed to
keep it up tempo and flowin' all the way up
until Big Cee brought it home at 6:15 in the morning. by a little after 7,
when there were only a few people left, we decided to call it a night...turned
on the lights and everyone kept on dancing...so we decided to just start
cleaning up and let them keep grooving.
Thank you everyone who helped out and everyone who managed to stil find
directions even when all the servers were down. Thank you Christina for working
the bar, Cade & Toddley for putting in extra hours to work on the 2x4, Adam for
helping the week of the event and all night as well, all the djs for bringing
the funk, Garick & Steve for working the door all night long, and a few other
people who helped here and there.
Now, time to announce that it was the last one! Yes, you heard right. That was
the last event I plan on doing. I need a break and honestly, I've found out a
couple times that sometimes no matter how much effort you put into things,
sometimes people just don't appreciate it. Yep, a lot of people expect guest
list every time (my guest list was well over one hundred people and yet people
were still trying to get in for free and get free drinks). if not for the few
people that I know do appreciate it, support, and help out...it just isn't worth
it. Thank you Amy Ricketts, Zoki, Carrie, and all the other people who always
come through and support or help out. I appreciate you guys. but to all you
other fake ass people...well, enough is enough...no more guest list from me.
...and now that I am done, I can say that...finally!! I'm sure you all know who
you are. Anyways, it really sucks to spend all my money just so you guys can
party and more than a couple times lose money or bar
ely make my money back...and I always hear the same people complain and wanting
in for free. Time to go ask someone else for guest list. I'm not paying for
you guys to party anymore. The buck stops here.
Ok, that was my rant. Once again though, for the very few people who actually
supported the other night, thank you! You guys made it a great party...and you
guys were who kept me going for all these years.
buh-bye!

Don't have much time so here is my quicky on the weekend:
friday
Monster house is awsome go see it in 3d... Then cruised by Soul
Electric... Sick venue and good tunes.
Saturday
WFA Fights.. Lindlan won IMO, rampage sucks now... Mayhem owned....
then off to the 2x4 set. Violet is the queen of venues. Best venue I
have seen in a long time. Airconditioning was great.. patio was great...
2x4s? ehhh not so great.. not bad but not great. 2x4s is hard as
hell!!!!! Todley and I pulled it iff but man was it a lot of work. lol
Sunday
Justin long rocked the boat. I know where he got the notion to rock the
boat!!! Mes tore it up!!! Good to hear scotty coats and mark e quark
funkin it up on the patio!!! Great vibes good sound.. Andrea is being
sneaky because she knows how to bang but just keeps it a secret when
talking to her.
