  >well, as most of you know.
  >Headinghome helps produce the Loft LA party with David Mancuso.
  >Meeting the man behind the legends has influenced us at many levels.
  >While doing our homework on him and his loft parties, we have found
  that
  >no, he is not a DJ, and no, he doesn't even call himself a DJ. He is
  a
  >music selector. If you think of him as a regular person who learns
  to
  >mix records or cds nowadays (booo) and goes out and gets gigs you
  have
  >missed who he really is and his message. as far as what has he
  >contributed to our scene goes, well many people credit him with
  defining
  >what we know as sound systems and most of all many famous DJs,
  musicians
  >and producers credit him with bringing inspiration to their lives
  and
  >for some the inspiration was such that it changed their lives by
  >inspiring them to want to either produce, play or dj. He's a really
  nice
  >humble man who has great knowledge of music and is willing to share
  with
  >the world. He does it in several ways always holding the up most
  respect
  >for the Artist first. He's intent has never been to be a "DJ", you
  will
  >hardly ever
  >find him djing at a club or underground event out side of his loft
  >parties, which he hosts with different promoters around the world.
  If
  >you would like to experience what he is like and what the original
  loft
  >paties are like, book a plane tix to NYC and check it out on your
  own.
  >the Loft parties are still going on strong since the 70's. Jonathan
  >Lastra and myself went to a loft party in NYC and we met people in
  their
  >50's who were OG loft goers from the 70's and we also saw DJs like
  mr. K
  >and Kenny Dope dancing in the crowd to his sets. like Lars said you
  >can't judge a party by a recording, so if you are really curious
  about
  >his events check 'em out.
  >
  >
  >for more info visit his site
  >www.theloftnyc.com
  >
  >for all those who like David, he will be back this year once again
  to
  >our annual Loft LA party on labor day weekend.
  >cheers
