Jeez, this has been enlightening....I looooovveee to hear what everyone's
favorites are....I've heard some very surprising requests', and some very
awesome requests that I didn't even think of.....like my favorite
dj/producter.....Steve "silk" Hurley and Paul Johnson....great
suggestion,,,,David morales and satoshi tomi.....both would be crazy
sick.....
I'm really stoked I asked the question....Everyone has been extremely
helpful....Definitely made me think of a few that I have not seen in
awhile.....
keep em coming.....also, thanks for the suggestions regarding special small
rooms for the heads that want it intimate and maybe 21+......if we get the
right venue, you will be obliged....
thanks again
Brett

I feel ya....I would KILL to see Joey and of course Hardsoul & Sandy
Rivera too...doc & steve droppin it old school la style would be sweet
as hell....anyone on SOULFURIC RECORDS would be unreal too...I wish some
of the older LA DJ's were still around or playing....Michael Cook, Aldo
Bender, Fester, etc...I was just thinking about Hot Lemonade in OC back
in like 1992-1993 with Ron D Core and DJ Dan....again, I am getting
really old...I can even remember when Christopher Lawrence would play
House (well, kinda house)...

I like some of these ideas...especially Aaron's idea to have Green
Velvet...mmm,
funky shit...and oooh, Pat said MAW live and Little Louie Vega & India
Live...I
like me some oldschool house

Of course, I still think what veers us all away from the massive most of the
time is sort of what Gretchen mentioned about being in the room with all the
candy kids, glowsticks, and fuzzy pants...lol. Yes, most of us came from that
same place once upon a time, hell, I used to throw those parties myself, but I
do think since most of the househeads are a lot older now, we just don't want
to
hang out with the kiddies anymore. We like things a little more intimate and
mature. I definitely think Gretchen has something there...have some smaller
rooms for the house talent (maybe you can have those areas be 21+ or
something...just an idea...of course, that wouldn't really be fair to everyone
else that wanted to hear those djs).

I do of course think that there will always be exceptions that make us tread
out
to the massives, but I think we sometimes don't come back for a while because
of
our whole experience while there. Of course, I've been known to show up at
random raves every 6 months or so just to be nostalgic...I've even bumped into
fellow househeads (both of us giving each other that "what are you doing here"
look)...so it's not like we all don't ever go out to these events...I just
don't
think it's as exciting to us as it used to be. When I go out, I want to be
around people my own age that aren't flailing glowsticks (to each his own, but
it's just not my cup of tea) and that is the main reason I don't frequent them
anymore.

That all being said though, let me also throw in that the B3 parties have
always
had more of a house vibe than most of the other massives in years past and
that
is what kept me going to them no matter what. I also have a lot of fond
memories from Juju Beats & How Sweet It Is...and I think that they've always
thrown a damn good party.

I feel so out of the loop...what's going on this weekend? I hear a dancefloor
calling me somewhere off in the distance...please help me find it.

but seriously, I haven't been out dancing in a crows age and need to shake
it...plus it's Diony's birfday, so we gotta find somewhere to plant our feet.

Let me know...

way out of the loop lately,

V

Actually, the fact that Olav Basoski is coming to Monster Massive this year is
dragging me out to the first Massive I have been to in 3+ years... Others
would
be Elite Force and Meat Katie tag team or 2x4 or Anyone from Fingerlickin'
especially Plump DJs and Slyde

oooh, DJ Funk played at Together As One a few years back and ripped it up. I
remember being in a bad mood, but when me and Diony walked into the main arena
and Dj Funk was on and bumpin, we just looked at each other and started
funkin.
By far one of the best "massive" sets.
