LoveFest is a non-profit event. SMC (and VMC - vegas music conference)
are both trying to fill the void left from the Miami-WMC being what it
is, a drug fest and no one attends the seminars (that's what the
conference is for, actually). I am not 100% sure that this is what
happened, but I think its a good guess. I actually worked on both the
Love Fest and the VMC...also, different people think they are going to
re-invent the wheel....not that they will, but too much ego is involved
in sharing the limelight. I found out that just about every show at both
LoveFest and VMC went well and no one lost any money....who knows, maybe
this weekend (SMC) will be great too and then people will have a lot of
choices for music conferences and festivals in the years to come. I
spoke today with almost 10 different people who went to both events and
I did not hear any complaints :-)~
so whats next????
Los Angeles Music Conference????
