I agree, LA is doin pretty dope. After STRUT, a bunch of people came out
to the Deeper Moods afterhours. Another sick night. Alland and Craig
were insane. They brought that techy electro house that just hit the
spot. If you are ever in SF, visit them at their night, [KONTROL]. The
only snag in the night was the cops commin by a few times and makin us
turn the music down (for a little while). Then around 5am, they started
banging on the back door (not the door used for entrance) but they
eventually left after they saw people leaving. I heard about all the
crazy ishh that happened at STRUT, wow. It takes all kinds. But not
every night is gonna go smoothly. Thanks to Dennis and Caden making the
best of it and for holdin it down at Gotham for as long as they could.
Keep yer head up and keep doin it. We do appreciate you hard work. I
was pretty much dead after friday night. I am glad saturday was dope
too. Would have like to have seen Doc, J howard and J Fiasco. Anyone
have comments on Fiasco's set?

Serge

  >Friday Night was the closing night for Gotham Hall in Santa Monica
  and a
  >large handfull of LA's DJ's were invited out to shut the b!tch
  down.. They
  >had a really good turnout which was a mixed crowd of our house
  community
  >and the regular hip hop crowd, but in the end things got strange.
  Stories
  >were being exchanged in the hallways of fights throughout the night
  and it
  >ended early after a bit of a ruckus. I have to give thanks to Dennis
  and
  >Caden for putting on such a great weekly there and for having the VT
  out
  >so many times to play, we always had a great time at Strut and can't
  wait
  >to see what's next!!
  >
  >
  >Saturday Night we started out at Gravity which was in a really nice
  venue
  >right off of Santa Monica Blvd. When we arrived Eric Davenport was
  warming
  >up the room nicely (perfect levels) and the lighting was nice and
  warm.
  >The place looked great. The front room was also filling up with
  people
  >getting drinks from the bar and chatting a bit. There were a couple
  >noticable changes when John Howard came on, the first was the volume
  >nearly doubled (way too loud), and the second was that probably 75%
  of the
  >people left and went in the other room. Coincidence? DJs, look up
  every
  >now and then and see what's going on!
  >
  >We moved out as well and caught what I think was the performance of
  the
  >night from Theory.. I hadn't heard Theory play downtempo since the
  patio
  >days at Electric and it was sorely missed. He put on a hell of a
  show and
  >had the place jumpin' in what was supposed to be the "chill" room!
  It was
  >quite a surprise and it was good to see him back here in LA gettin
  some
  >love. Great party overall and it was nice to see so many people come
  out
  >and party with Lucas and Becky and the rest of the GRAVITY team.
  >
  >
  > >From there we headed out to Sublevel around 2am or so and arrived
  just in
  >time to catch the shuttle over to the church. After a quick but
  effective
  >pass through security (wait, no gum?! What is this the Orange
  Show?!) we
  >made our way through the puddles and into the venue. Doc had the
  place in
  >the palm of his hands (as always) and it was packed. The tempo was
  perfect
  >and Mike Fix was posted up in the back making the place look great.
  We
  >said some hello's and then made our way up to the front to hear the
  master
  >do his thing.. Next thing I know it's almost 6am and out of nowhere
  Doc
  >brings in Push Push by Rockers Hi-Fi. The sun is about to come up
  and
  >everythings perfect. We pull ourselves away from the speakers and
  head
  >home for some much needed rest.. Marty, Doc, and Lillia, you never
  cease
  >to amaze me.
  >
  >
  >Another great weekend in Los Angeles.. Looking forward to the next
  couple
  >weeks with Streetlight Sessions 01 next Saturday, and then $5 Dollah
  Funk$
  >finally coming back on March 3rd!! Hope to see you all there...
