Dear JT,
Thanks for driving home with me last night; thanks for visiting MY house.
As I took to the dance floor, the dancing girls reaffirmed what I already 
thought I knew~ LA still has a crush on JT. LA still wants that sound, the 
sincerity on the decks; he's the nice guy who likes it hard, round and 
bounced. With the stiffness of a dancless weekend and my friend hobbling on 
an awkward ankle issue, we stormed the freeways across OC. He sauntered, I 
slipped inside and bellied up to the bar.
The vibe at Focus is something that is always rather difficult to decipher, 
perhaps the juvenile interference with the beat, perhaps the beat boxin’ / 
pop blockin' / house breakin' crowd just throws me off a bit. But as I 
milled about the party, meeting and greeting, smoking and standing-- the 
shivers of subtle excitement shimmied between us. I snatched up a CD, 
visited the Bermuda Triangle of Costa Mesa, and found some friendly speaker 
space.
So what happens? Forget about Chicago for a moment, forget about Justin Long 
and big-banging-jerky and focus on the beat. Make it a little sweeter, add a 
little group sweat, hold it in your mouth for a minute and swallow while 
stepping down the party train. Was I listening to the Soul Train of the 
future? Or was I just jacked? I couldn’t decide, so I let the feet do the 
arguing.

Thanks JT: for the phat set, the dope CD and the mid-week work out~ Thanks 
for taking me back and bringing me forward and showing that evolution can be 
a good thing, learning and growing, taking things in your own direction. I 
imagine the set I heard last night would be the Twister vibe, were Boz still 
rockin the Monday night. Phunky, chunky, dirty boy, thanks for rockin’ the 
party.

Thanks to the Focus Family for welcoming me in their house—I haven’t seen 
the lights go on at a party in a minute!
