Just wanted to post my brief review of the weekend.  I normally don't do
this but I saw some great things here and want to give props to the folks
that made it happen.  First off, Friday night at 'Deeper Moods' was a
really sick party featuring Abe Duque.  I spoke with Abe before the show
and he was sceptical about what LA had to offer but during the show he
was dancing and havin a blast.  He told me he had not seen a
dope underground scene like ours in a long time.  He was thouroughly
impressed with LA's djs, the underground scene and had much to tell his
peeps back in New York.  Props to Darius and Damion for bringing it,
every month with a sick undergorund party.  The next evening was the
'Sole Channel' party.  Wow, what a vibe.  It was packed and I heard some
great music too.  Will (Reel Soul) really represented LA well and the NY
djs brought some dope afterhours style house.  They too were impressed
with LA and had no idea we had a scene like this.  I was mostly impressed
with how everyone came together to make the show happen.  Latley the
scene has been disjointed but this night, people put down their
differences, stop hating on each other and LA experienced a high quality
underground event.  Props to Alex Quintero, Movin family and Sole Channel
for bringing back to LA a vibe I have not seen in the house music seen in
a while.  This gives me hope for what is to come this year and reafirms
that we really have something good going on in this great city.  We got a
good start on 2007.  Let's keep it going and make LA the spot to be when
it comes to the underground music scene in America.
