It has only come within the last 4-5 years
since the Grammys actually recognized
dance music enough to make it a category.
 As we would expect by the commercialization
of music, the only nominees have been
commercial pop albums that teetered along the
lines of  dance/electronic. This years nominees
 include Madonna, Paul Oakenfold, Petshop Boys
and Gold Frap.

There have been some glimmer of hope in the
nominations with certain artists who have a long
historical history in house music. While their
recognition may not have arose from a remix or
production of their underground house style, at least,
 they are pure blooded HOUSE MUSIC producers,
through the thick and the thin.
