Peter Black’s musical career started from humble beginnings, playing
post-punk,
new wave disco and acid house cuts in several clubs on the West Coast in
the mid to late eighties.
By the early nineties, having decided the early rave movement was not
the direction for him,
he embarked on a career to make, promote and sell the music that had
originally brought so much enthusiasm to him and the crowds he had
played for.
In early 1993, only a year into his production career, Peter released
his first project as Sweet Drop
on Strictly Rhythm Records. Which at that time was one of the industry's
hottest labels. Through the
support and encouragement of West Coast legend Doc Martin, Sweet Drop
became a globally
appreciated and recognized name. Soon, Sweet Drop was signed to New
York's Groovilicious Records,
Strictly Rhythm's sister label. The release of his "Human Nature" in
1996 became an anthem in Ibiza and
throughout the dance world while solidifying Groovilicious as an
industry staple. After several releases
exclusive to the label, Peter took a few years off from dance music to
work on several rock projects.
In the late 90's Peter re-launched his solo career this time under his
own name and since 1999 has not looked
back. Affectionaly refered to as the "Anthem Remixer" by his peers he
rocked Miami's Winter Music Conference
in 2001 with his floor stomping remix of Eddy Grant's "Electric Avenue"
and continutes to crank out a bevy of
original tunes and quality remixes today. Peter is also infamous for
making available those classics and out of
print releases that many of us have had difficulty finding over the
years. We thank him deeply for that.
Join us as we celebrate the release of his upcoming album "Descending
Patterns," an anthology of Peter's work
from his Sweet Drop days to sounds his current sounds that move us today.
