Ok... So Cade asks... Are people def at
clubs? Do people just not pay attention at the party? Do they just see me as
a local and not pay attention when I play?

Opinions?

I am not a Dj! But... I am going to give my opinion based on my 16 years of loving this music; the Dj's and their sets live in a club or on CD!! The past 9 years of this I've really truly been observing this kind of thing. I hate that locals don't play MORE often!! Geez, and travel a little as well!!! Um... GIG SWAPS you guys!?!? Anyone? I hope so!!!!! Let's do this!? (This is a topic for later!)

Anyway, my opinion is based on what I have observed and experienced and is only my opinions as a dancer out supporting all the Dj's. I have noticed and will tell my opinion as a sober person vs. a little intoxicated. I feel there is a bit of a difference when out at the clubs or bars listening to a live set sober than not. I will say on some very few occasions I have had 1 to 1 and 1/2 mixed drinks while out dancing. I'm allergic to all drinks so I do have a bias opinion.

When I'm out at the clubs I hear the music and think it is as good if not better live vs. on a CD. Now, don't get me wrong, a CD in my car I do like just as much too!! Keep them coming guys?! Sober or not, mostly sober though, I would much rather hear a local Djs set live than a CD. To hear the same awesome tracks on a system is more rewarding than loud on a stereo!! I really don't ever drink heavily nor have casual drinks for release from a stressful work week. So, I wouldn't know for sure how those type people hear the music. But... I have known in my own observations I don't have any ear goggles clouding my hearing when I'm out dancing! And my attitude or mood is usually just as good out on at the club or bars as when I'm on my way somewhere in my car listening to a CD.

It really comes down to what a person’s mood is when they are out or if they simply just have on beer goggles on! (Ear goggles) I have seen that people just don't hear music the same in a club as when they are out of the club. I think for most people, the live sets sound different when a person is or is not in their “I just got paid its Friday night" mood. This also applies when someone is just out to have a couple and hang with some friends. Compare these moods to how your mood is when you throw a CD in the stereo right after leaving the club and to just putting it in on the way to work on a Wednesday morning, etc.

End result... PEOPLE'S MOODS and ear goggles = people don't really hear a live set like it could or should be. I feel this is why there are people saying the CD is great or better than a live set. And why they are not liking the live sets as much and asking, "When you will be making a CD again instead of when is your next set?"

  My opinion 8-)

Hugs and have a good day everyone!

  xo,
  Alayna
