less than 2 weeks away. i ncase youve been living under a rock, heres
some info about our guest Dj's, The imfamous Hodges and Craig Hamilton.
Jason Hodges:
Canadian born Jason Hurtubise, first arrived in the house music scene
in late 1991, taking on Torontos underground party scene he
developed his DJing skills on the decks with the likes of New York -
New Jersey sounds. Todd Terry, Kenny Dope + Lil Louie Vega (Maw) Zack
Tomz, and Todd Edwards are a few of Hodges¹ favorite producers.
Drawn to the sounds of drum machines, Hodges began renting gear from
local music stores until finally deciding on a E-MU SP 1200, a piece
commonly used by Hip Hop producers since its arrival in 1987.
Hard-hitting beats with deep grooves became the signature sound for
Hodges whether in the studio, on the dance floors; from local
Toronto gigs, to the surrounding towns around Ontario and across
Canada, Hodges was growing and coming into his own.
Jason began releasing records with various Toronto labels getting his
feet wet remixing and co-producing tracks with some of Canadas
talents. After many years of training and development, Hodges
returned to the scene with a new energy and a new plan.
As a rising house DJ and producer, Hodges has teamed up with Big
Chief DJ Sneak on co-production and remix work for several notable
and established artists. Hodges & Sneak (AKA "The Jizznackaz") have
collaborated on a number of Sneaks projects and records for Magnetic
Recordings, as well as Sneaks new imprint label Oomph Recordings
Jason is currently building his profile; remixing artists like Freaks
on MMF, Kaskade on OM, Sneaks "Fix my Sink" on Magnetic, Cozy
Creatures Oomph, among many others in the horizon. 2003 opened the
floodgates for world travel and new music projects, promising a
steady and bright future for Canadas best-kept secret.
The name Jason Hodges represents the technical craft he pours into
every production, with highly anticipated tracks being played and
praised by the likes of Mark Farina, DJ Heather, Derrick Carter, DJ
Raoul and Sneak, among other eminent House Music Pioneers around the
world.
Sneak on Hodges: "My very first trip to Toronto in 1994, I had the
pleasure of meeting Torontos upcoming producers. I can remember
perfectly a comment I made about Jason, I said, "He's the Kenny Dope
of Toronto". He has productively advanced into a solid house music
trooper".

Craig Hamilton:
It was in the early 90's that Craig was first bitten by the music
bug, begging his dad for a set of turntables when he was still at
school. After several years in the bedroom it was time to unleash on
the unsuspecting public.
After playing virtually every major club in glasgow, Craig was asked
to present the ever popular static show on Glasgow based Radio
Magnetic, for over 4 years Static concentrated in bringing the best
in chicago house to a listenership of over 250,000 worldwide.
In late 2005 Craig decided it was time to put something back into the
scene by putting in some serious studio time.Which saw the release of
his debut track "Yo Dj" on chicago imprint control recordings in feb
2007, a track which has gained support from phil weeks, jason hodges
& bryan jones to name but a few & could be widely heard at both wmc
2006 & 2007 in various djs sets, even finding its way onto radio one
extra's popular Garage show.
Following on this "The Glass Cheque EP" was released on upcoming
irish imprint yakuza recordings, this was to be the labels biggest
release to date, selling out within a week of hitting the shelves.
Recently recieving praise in two separate reviews in popular music
publication DJ Mag, obtaining 3 1/2 out of 5 & 3 out of 5.
"Northern Style" was to be the next release, on Andrew Macari's
Greenhouse Recordings. This 4 tracker has been Craig's biggest
release to date, with mark farina, dj heather, jason hodges, diz,
bryan jones, joey youngman, sound republic all over each track for
the past year. With 800 copies selling in 2 days & 2 of the cuts
licensed to a forthcoming compilation in south africa.
During this time he along with good friend Leon Knowles set up a
small glasgow based independent Digital label, Flatpack Traxx. This
has the focus of releasing material from up & coming artists within
the genre, to bring them into the public eye. so far releasing 6 ep's
which have turned a few heads in the US & right across the
world.Flatpack Myspace Flatpack Homepage
Craig Also makes up one half of Glaswegian production duo "Soulfunk
City" with good friend Ryan Allen. The partnership was formed in
summer 2006 shortly after the pair first met. After a few sessions in
the studio they worked out "Get Up" this was to be picked up by
boston imprint Clean House Music, which underwent the remix treatment
of Demarkus Lewis & The Honeymooners. Following on this the now self
titled "Soulfunk City" was picked up by nashvilles finest house label
Photo records, due to drop on Craig's solo ep "Works 4 Me". After a
break of working on solo projects they are now back in the studio
working on some new material. As well as just having finishing off
several remixes for Clean House Music.Soulfunk City Music
2007 has also seen Craig work alongside William Alexander for an ep
under the guise of "Under The Influence" which comprised of original
works & remixes from either artist. This year has also seen collabs
with the Sound Diggers, Sceneheadz, Hustle & Flow & Benjamin Brown in
the works. As well as starting collaborations closer to home with the
likes of long term friends Chris Mac, who put together "Swingin G-
town" in 2006. Full Phat who was snapped up by Flatpack Traxx &
Esteban Carracas
