i used to love going to the huge parties back in the day. you could jump
from the house to d&b to trance? to techno .. to downtempo ... taste the
rainbow .. that was the la underground. i remember seeing barry weaver
amongst other amazing djs at the alexandria .. way way way back.

the last time i saw steve loria .. i was blown away by his set... and
although i've seen dancers come up to the dj and shake their hand ... over
and over .. dancers came up to him and you could see the gratitude ... there
are many monumental dj that inspired a generation ... of dancers. some of
us are still here ... seeking and trying to bring that spirit back each time
our feet hit the dancefloor. :)

i would love to see conversation like this ... on our message board. please
consider joining and participating... promotions welcome as well. :)

have a lovely day, t.rave

>Future Ape: they are doing everything i think the scene needs. some out
>of
>towners, but mostly all the long time LA locals. and the same amount of
>hype that would go along with anyone in some magazine's top50 whatevers.
>when promoters book ALL out of town djs, it makes people think our locals
>are just, well, locals. but locals from where? THE LOS ANGELES
>UNDERGOUND!
>let's hype up RAW, let's hype up Ron D Core, Steve Loria, Barry Weaver,
>Fester! Many of the "big show" promoters used to use us all, but somehow
>got caught up in... i don't know what... I love you Pasquale, and you
>know
>it, but NOT ONE LA dj in the house or trance room at EDC? What does that
>do
>for the morale of the LA raver and their feeling about THEIR DJs? People
>used to flock in just as many numbers to see Taylor, Sandra, Eli Star...
>don't believe the hype it's a sequel! Future Ape... what are they
>doing???? AMAZING promotion... with who? Ron D core, Fester, RAW, mostly
>LA "legends"... and a few tried and true old school out-a towners like
>Frankie Bones. Trust me, we know how to rock the crowd. But my main point
>is when the big parties book NO LA djs, it sends a message that LA djs
>aren't as good as these famed out of town djs. BULLSHIT! I got into the
>scene and WORSHIPED Doc Martin, DJ Dan, Ron D Core, Steve Loria, Barry
>Weaver... Let's show the world that LA has world class DJs, and that if
>you
>wanna see them, you gotta come here! THANK YOU Future Ape for doing
>this...
>I've been waiting for this... LA's the place.
