I had a freakin' blast at Dynagroove on Saturday!! When I got there Cade was
playing some jams. I was really enjoying his track selection and was really
looking forward to the rest of the night as there was already a good amount of
people in attendance on the dancefloor and the place was filling up fast. The
sound was great and I also loved the lights and the opened corner in the back
(more room for the dancers), as well as the lights on the wall. Weeeee! Jamie
came on next and played a solid set while I got my groove and mingle on. I was
so happy to see so many old and new faces together, and everyone seemed hyped.
Natural Rhythm came on and the vibe just took off for me. Maybe I'm a bit
partial? Maybe because I was up front and able to witness the energy of the
place go through the roof? Maybe because the music was amazing and it was so
exciting to see them all playing together? Regardless, the shit was off the
chains.
Cocoe was back there doing his thing, working those congas. Sandra was an
added element that none of us had witnessed live before and it was such a
treat to hear her sing. Pat is the man. I swear that guy is so talented. He
adds such an element to the live show, I don't think it would be the same
without him. What do I have to say about Thomas and Pete? They are both very
talented individuals...uh, DUH! We wouldn't own so many records of theirs if
they weren't talented. I mean, it's hard for me to review them because they
are personal friends of mine. They are such quality guys and they put all of
that quality into everything they do, and it truly reflects in their music. I
think the thing that got me the most was to witness their comradery. I got a
little misty eyed in there seeing them switch stations, smiling and patting
each other on the back. They were having such a great time....not to mention,
so were we!!
After that, Jamanta Crew came on and I was really excited to hear them since I
missed the last show they did for Dynagroove. They were fun and quirky and
kept the vibe flowing, but I needed some water pronto! Headed out back and did
some more mingling, dancing, etc. I think there were more of you out there
than I thought because I missed seeing a bunch of you. By the time Diz came
on, I think my feet just couldn't take it anymore. I wanted to dance, but it
was like dragging bricks around, so I sat down and bobbed my head for a while
as the guys packed up.
All in all, I think I smiled from the moment I walked in to the moment that I
walked out, and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening/morning. Amy, it was so fun
watching the show and dancing with you. We watched the recording and you can
hear you in the background going "yeah, yeaaahhh, yeaaaahhh." And Kon...thanks
for good times and the Tecate. I probably would've died from thirst up there
if you didn't show up, because I wasn't going anywhere.
Most of all, thanks to Cade for keeping this thing going for so long. Your
efforts are appreciated and I'm excited to see what happens next.
