[Dynagroove] Well since no one wants to send a review... Farina Last night

I have long since jumped off the Mark Farina band wagon.  Mostly because I
do not like the way he plays out here in LA.   I always tell people Mark
Farina shines his best in a small to mid sized club.  Put in at a big
underground, rave, or large club and I think he just kinda sucks.  However
last night we got treated to the right environment for Mark Farina..   He
definately was playing above is recent par...  He played some oldies that I
was like  "oh wait a sec... I remember this track!!  Where the hell is it in
my record collection??" lol  He also played some new trax that I love.  I
went a little apeshit when he dropped "Whad up flygirls and Flyguys" by
Thomas Sahs...    Best line in that track is "Both of my nuts got a modeling
gig!" lol ah

However as good as mark played I am one that believes a setup is just as
important as a headliner.  Wobs and Nonfiction definitely set up mark the
way your supposed to.  It is good to see DJs that understand to bang it out
and make it funky does not require bring the BPM up high.   I was amazed at
wobs track selection...  There were about 5 records where I was like WTF is
this track?  It was funky and chunky and one track had a bassline that made
everyone woop!!  Nonfiction only caught a little of.  But I new the second
walked in that he had the tempo and vibe on  lockdown..

Josh at focus really cares about his club, his scene, and his music.  I
think we should all give him a big thanks for setting up the night for us.

PS  Who the hell cares if it is a 18+ party.  At least the young ones
dance.. sheesh!
