i LOVED andy caldwell's set, most creative of the night in my opinion...
not house, not electro, just good!
dj dan and donald played a LOT of stuff from dan's new label InStereo
here's a link to where you can get a lot of their tracks:

It was the shit.... I was *lucky* enough to get the backstage pass because
i
had some *friends* in town performing. This enabled me to see everything
from
backstage, move quickly (and get driven around on a golf cart!) through all
the secret passageways between the different stages and watch most of the
big
shows from backstage.
Don't get me wrong, It was still a complete zoo either way, but totally
amazing to watch as everything unfolded from behind the scenes. All the
different ravers came in droves, even with it being an under 21 event. Most
of
my usual crew didn't want to come because of that. They missed out!!! Im so
happy i went, i'm glad the next gen of partiers still dresses in costumes,
and
yes, the VS undies (i know who ur talking about) were a difficult to see on
some folks, but the point was that it didn't matter, the weather was great,
everyone was beautiful and there to spread the love. I got there just before
the show opened and the line to get in was already insane. I psyched myself
to
be in for the long haul.
Since everyone has already given some stellar reviews, my faves for the
night
included freaking out to glitch mob from the top of the platform, RITM with
the Vau de Vire acrobats from SF, and ending the night with an unusual Andy
Caldwell set. If anyone does get a recording from the DJ Dan/Donald Glaude
2x4, please share the love. That was the only thing i regret missing.
Did anyone else make it to any of the afterparties?
I woke up the next afternoon with a nice little blister on one of my heels
from dancing so much and a big smile on my face. Looking forward to next
year!

Sorry I'm a bit late jumping in on the EDC reviews, but I'd still like to
share...
Last time I went to EDC was 8 YEARS ago when it was held at Lake Dolores!
This
year was my first time back and I don't know why I was excited as hell to
"regress" into the rave scene. I was a bit of a skeptic when I stopped by
the
crowded McD's/Arco station on the corner to use the restroom. The place was
packed like candy kid heaven. It reminded me of how much I shrieked at
partying around the kiddies and the very reason why I stopped going in the
first place.
I saw $40 parking lots, but luckily found the $25 lot which still seemed
absurd for friggin' parking. We walk around the corner to be welcomed by a
massive line for the massive party. We totally cut and still waited well
over
an hour and half to get in. I was disappointed to miss Fred Everything's
set,
but Colette quickly brought a smile on my face. This cande kid gave me a
cute,
cande bracelet that read "Colette" to spread his positive PLUR
vibes...hahaha... Loved it and took back all my horrible candy kid thoughts
that very moment. :)
Next up, was my future baby daddy Farina. j/k He came out with a bang, but I
left midset to see Rabbit in the Moon. Could I say RITM was dope, dope and
Ridiculously Dope?!?! The money they pour into their act ranging from
dancers
to the pyrotechnics to the confetti shower to the circus performers to
people
surfing in a MF'in bubble and then to explode into flying glow stick debris
into the crowd? Wow! I was in complete awe... esp when they played Out of
Body
Experience. I didn't realize Dj Dan & Donald Glaude had a 2X4 until the day
of. Honestly, I've seen them both so many times I didn't think anything of
it
at the news. I was curious, so I stayed. Damn, they blew me away!!! At one
point Glaude went onto the drums as Dan scratched while the records spun.
They
were so insync - it was the sickest shit my ears have witnessed in a long
time. I have to say that this was one of my highlights which was truly
unexpected. Dan teased us repeatedly with That Zipper Track and I kept
waiting for it... Anyone know if he ever played it in its entirety???
Other peeps I saw Z-Trip (didn't hear much, but loved what I heard), Armand
Van Helden, Moby (loved when he played my fav song Porcelain), PVK & Krafty
Kuts (ended the night w great breaks, but took off early bc my DD was
tired).
Sadly missed Todd Terry, Heather and Dieselboy. I was more excited to see
Todd
Terry than anyone else, but I gotta give it up to Dan & Glaude. I danced
non-stop. Hope I didn't miss TOO much not seeing Todd Terry this time
around.
Dengit.
Earlier, someone mentioned that massives are making a comeback... Shooooot,
after this year's EDC, I AM A BELIEVER! Ha!
*Much Love & Respect*

Ps- Anyone know of any good parties going on on the 4th? Holla! =)
