I have to say... I went to EDC and had no idea what to expect. I
haven't been to an LA massive in years. I took the guy I am dating as
he has never been to an underground/rave event. We got there around 6
because I wanted to hear Fred Everything as I have been hearing good
things about his sets lately. I have always been a Fred fan and will
be. He laid down the PERFECT 6pm opening type of set.
Colette came on and the guy was antsy to walk around and see what a
"rave" is all about. We passed by the prostiteens... and I was
shocked. These girls still had their baby fat and were wearing
Victor's Secret brief/panties (YES VICTOR... VICTORIA IS THE DRAG NAME
LOL) and fishnets and a bikini top? Im sorry but what the fuck is
that... it's pathetic to see kinda.. I mean we had fun but to dress
all skankafied like that is just not classy and gross! The girls when
we were raving never wore anything like that... from what I
remember..we were back in time to hear Colette and she played very
well. The crowd was responsive and she was setting the undertone for
the night.
Mr. Farina came on and was just ok. I have heard better sets from him
and I know that he can be hit or miss. I think the highlight was him
after playing, squatting to get his CD bag and then realized he was
drunk and fell right over LOL. It was a funny sight to see Sneak carry
him down the stairs of the wobbly nature. Giant and Sprout. hehehe..
Then... Ms. Thing... The one, the only, Dj Heather.
Dj Heather is Dj Heather for what she does. FUCK IT UP. From the first
bass line drop in to the last she worked it out. She was really
enjoying herself and you can tell. I think there was a point where a
breakdown came on a track she has and all the sudden you hear
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,11,12.... from Sesame Street.. then after
that... DONE.. she snapped those kids necks in 1/2. It's so
interesting to see a DJ who we are used to playing at a smaller venue
play a big venue. It's fun to see how they need to adjust to the crowd.
I have to say the party was pretty much under control. The electro/
indie area was cool too..I personally had a good time and was going
there expecting to be irritated with kids bumping and pushing but it
was nothing like that even though there were so many people.
That's my two cents! Sorry I have been hiding out and havent been
going out but just been busy in m personal life. I love and miss all
you guys and can't wait to see you soon!
