house music is not dieing.
interests might shift and maybe it's not all like it once was. people
get older and realize that staying home w/ their family can be fun, too.
imo one problem is that some DJs and promoters get older and are set in
their ways (and music they play) and don't show flexibility to recruit
new listeners but rather think they're too good to invite those who are
new to the music.
personally I love checking out parties that don't push the house music
label but the music is pretty much exactly that and the party is right.
Martin Landsky hosted by Droog at The Room in Hollywood was the f*ckin
bomb. I hardly knew anyone, people were dancing, people were drinking
and the music was ace.
RIGHT NOW is a very exciting time cause house music is coming around
again and entering a new level.
the differences between styles are pretty much disappearing and whether
it's soulful, minimal, deep tech or whatever, it could all be played the
same night. ..
at the end it's important that the party is a party and not just a
showcase of coolness.
