[Dynagroove] In repsonce to Amy Ricketts....

Yeah, I too always see it posted places and always hear about it...even if
it's a little last minute.  I actually don't even check my Dynagroove emails
as much anymore because I've found that there are just TOO many avenues to go
to and too many events happening that are spread out among messageboards,
etc.  I look elsewhere and it helps to keep me doing different things all the
time and not just going to the same party everyone else is going to that
night.  One night I might be at Dynagroove funkin' and groovin', the next
weekend I might be getting into some good minimal house, dancing to some dirty
dirty breaks at a little space island LABA party the next, and so on...

I guess I'm just saying that to rely on one messageboard is just ridiculous,
because you surely won't get all the info on just one.  I end up at so many
different places every weekend because I don't rely solely on one source.
Sure, the Dynagroove list is definitely our "old faithful", but as Tina
said...there's also the movin board, going, myspace, tribe, and so on.  If you
want to find out about different happenings, you need to be willing to step
out of your bubble to find them.  ;)

...and Amy, I'll be more than happy to send you a text when I'm heading out to
something that might not be on this list.  ;)

OHHHH, like San Diego today for Earthdance at Balboa Park...who's going?  Then
the Endless Summer Yacht party tomorrow...anyone?  How about going to the
monthly roller disco night at World On Wheels?  A bunch of us went last month,
had a blast, and it's now going to be a monthly thing for us.  We're getting a
big group to go to that and then head over to Dynagroove after on the 27th.
...workin' it out on the roller rink and then some more at the D-groove!  Who
wants to join us?  Oh, and good ol' Jason V from OnE is involved in an AIDS
benefit party on Sept 21st called Stride where there will be not only music,
but lots of cool art to look at!  Oh, and don't let me forget about
Create:Fixate coming up next Saturday night...always a good outlet for some
dancing, mingling, and art viewing.  Then there's the Bazaare at Zanzibar on
Oct 1st...with the L.A.B.A. djs...who wants to join me?  There are all sorts
of things going on in this world that I'm
sure most people don't hear about if they stick to one source.  I also
noticed that if you open yourself up to hearing more about these events that
you will actually start hearing about them more.

BTW, for the people staying in LA this weekend, Green Sector is hosting
Earthdance at Woodley Park today...and then there's Nocturnal tonight and a
pool party manana!  There's always ALL kinds of things going on...just look
around and you'll find them.  :)

Soooo, any time you wanna know what's up, just let us know!  :)

xo,

V

amy, i understand your curiousity ..
maybe the same reason people don't post about the do over party. (crowd
control?) there is alot of neat happenings in la as we know.

i rarely come on this list though usually get plenty of advance bulletins
still sometimes i miss things and that's where our friends should come in
and
get us out on the dancefloor.

i love harvey events because it feels like you're taken on a journey hehe i
hear critique of his playing style .. unconventional yet genius in many ways.
most of those "who know" will seek out the events and spread through
word of
mouth .. "hey buddy will you be at the next harvey?!" ect .. it's
not for
everyone, and i don't mean that in any sort of elitest fashion .. i'm
almost
afraid to talk about it .. because i am no expert .. i can only kick my
shoes
off and dance as i take it all in .. the people involved with these parties
are great at what they do :)

it seems that you got alot of incorrect information, sd was promoted online,
text, word of mouth, messageboards and i'm sure some email lists shouted
his
name. the price was not 35.. though there are plenty of shindigs that get
that
much i.e. avalon and the wonderful massives that have been poppin up this
summer. sarcastic imo would be worth much more if money was measure though
dang 35 might even sway me from coming .. and before you make an assumption
that promotion was short because they don't need attendees because of
cover..
c'mon now, have some faith .. the place was packed all night long.. i got
there late (6a) people were dancing up until "the end" and "the
doors"
drumrool announced the lights so it is my assumption that if they promoted
more than they did .. it might've attracted too many dancers and that could
burn spots really quick.

now for the cows.. hehe mooove baby. we happy , milkable and black and white.
who knows what joey is trying to express .. interesting wordage thou .. i'm
sure i got the inside joke .. somewhere deep down inside .. deep down inside
.. anyways. before we apply anyones opinions of what hsd is or isn't .. we
should understand that maybe we ourselves are hyping something up that is
simply just another dance party. amy i know you'd enjoy yourself there ..
why
haven't you been?! .. hurry up and get to one .. why didn't i tell you
to go
... ugh if anything .. we have too much of a good thing in la ..

for those who want extended coverage on la upcoming events and happenings,
check out the board i help moderate. we have a diverse pool of house lovers
..
promoters, dancers, drinkers, 12 stepers .. note the sarcastic thread is a
long one with plenty of interest amongs us know nothings ;)

oh and you guys do know about lies lies lies ... wed at vine bar. quality
music .. minimal house ect. lounge or dance .. listen .. to the rumors and
you
won't be dissapointed. movin-ent.com/forum/
