[Dynagroove] Bickle's point...

I'm not typically one to get involved in these type of discussions but I
believe Joe's point was lost in his rhetoric and bad analogies involving cows
and bicycles, but its an important point nonetheless. I believe his point is
that there was a time when you probably could depend solely on Dynagroove for
you party information, but that time has passed.  There are currently a large
number of good parties in Los Angeles that are outside of the "funky house
scene." It has gotten to the point where there are probably more good parties
in LA that are not posted/mentioned on this list then those which are posted.
Perhaps more importantly, many of those parties, be they Dark Disco, Minimal,
Techno, etc., have a life, energy and excitement that I feel has been sorely
missing our house scene in a while. Moreover, many of the people that throw
and attend those parties have no connection with the Dynagroove list or the
house scene generally and, because that community is thriving, don't feel the
need to reach out or expand their promotion.  I believe that is a shame
because there is a great energy building in Los Angeles that many people are
missing out on, which, if exposed to, I feel they would enjoy.

That said, I don't think Joe intended to offend anyone. In throwing parties
with Bickle  for over five years now I can tell you that this isn't the first
time his blunt/Pittsburgh way of communicating has caused people to take
offense. Regardless of his form of communication, I think his point still
stands. This community has generally become very insular and folks are missing
out on wide spectrum of events that are making this one of the most exciting
periods in the Los Angeles dance music sense in a long time.
