Hello y'all,

I'm writing to you a bit of topic because I feel is necessary that we
all take a deep breath and take a look at the events surrounding Wall
Street this week from a 'House' view.

Early on, when I began to attend parties thing that attracted me to the
underground scene aside from the music was the vibe set forth by the
scene. It was and understanding that we must be tolerant of others both
in our dancing and our actions both on and off the dance floor. This
makes sense since House grew out of gay disco clubs and no one was
seeking tolerance more than the gay community.

I feel now that dance music has become so readily available that the
vibe no longer exists in the tone that it did back then. The youth
today takes a lot of its freedom for granted. And its not really aware
of the sacrifices that were made by those that came before to get our
culture where we are today.

What is happening on Wall Street is kinda the same thing. Those CEOs
did not learn the lessons of the past and now we find ourselves in the
biggest financial crisis to hit this country in 80 years!

So what does this have to do with House Music? Well, I think it has to
do a lot. The reality is that you cannot separate politics from
culture. They reflect each other. Division and lack of VISION is what
got us in this mess in the first place. That is why I felt compelled to
write an article this morning that explains how art, music, politics,
activism and spiritualism must come together in people's mind if we are
going get out of this mess.

I would love to hear what you think. Feel free to email me directly
with your thoughts.
