my thought:

radio version: got there, raved, left

12" long version: always my FAVORITE party of the year! had a wonderful
time with victoria xoxo. grooved to mark, loved the house he played. so
easy to dance to in the sun =]. drank a beer or 7. caught the end of
splat's set, thanks for setting me up proper! got to play on that stage,
wow! cade said to me before i walked over there, "dude it's great over
there, you're gonna be stoked." i was! 3 monitors on each side?! thank
you b3, that is proper. guess i can say i was happy with my set, crowd
seemed to like it (thank you!). listened to charles, always fun! checked
out heather, so fun! all the old people (my age) were chillin backstage
during heather. saw lots of long time friends (thanks tina!). chilled,
drank, bobbed my head etc. listened to dan, he and doc are always my faves.
went to check out ztrip (he's pretty good at scratching). came home, stayed
up for a "little while"... yada yada yada... thanks b3/brett, congrats on
an amazing party that is getting A+ reviews on every chat site i've seen.
lots of vids on youtube already too =] shaka khan Jb

ps from toddley LOL:
"most of the heads came out and it was awesome to talk about the
old times and how we are old and can't do what we used to do.. blah
blah.. hehe.. anywho.. "

This Wednesday, we are blessed to have OSUNLADE at MELODIC. This man has
been on a tear lately and has been delivering crushing sets every time he
plays.

THIS WILL BE A BUSY NIGHT. DISCOUNT PRESALE TICKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT:
http://fla.vor.us/wafform.aspx?_act=eventview&_pky=62508

WHO IS OSUNLADE?
Osunlade is an artist who personifies art. His music as well as his being
creates unified melodies manifested with balance, life and wisdom. Hailing
from St. Louis Missouri, a place known for pioneering jazz, blues as well,
innovative artists like Miles Davis. At age seven Osunlade discovered the
piano and the vision of his life?s destiny was born. By the age twelve he
found an interest in creating and producing songs of his own, he formed a
local band, taught himself several other instruments and studied further the
development of his unique sound.

Within the next ten years and over twenty albums credited, Osunlade felt the
pressures and practices of the music business overshadowed his passion of
music. Deciding he would no longer work under the influences of corporate
ideals and demands, he chose to quiet himself, find spiritual solace and
honor his soul. This led him to Ifa, a naturalist ancestral culture based on
nature, deriving from the Yoruba tribes of Africa and practiced by the
slaves during the Diaspora to America.

In 1999, Osunlade would embark on what is now his dream come true. The
founding of Yoruba Records. Recognized as one of the most important dance
music labels worldwide, Yoruba Records is purely a source of music created
to elevate the spirit.

As the success of the label grew, so did the demand for Osunlade to expand.
In 2001 he released his debut album on the respected Soul Jazz Records
label. ?Paradigm? quickly became on of the biggest house albums that year
and dubbed him the messiah of ancestral house music. With the support of
dj?s worldwide and his music now introduced to a wider spectrum of
listeners, this veteran musician/composer/producer becoming the artist
finally achieved balance within.

Good times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was pleasantly surprised by the crowd
and the artists who all appeared to be having fun!!! Mark and Sneak were
great and I from what I heard of Feelgood and Mr. Blakemore everything was
in perfect order. I enjoyed every aspect of the party from the stage decor
to the butterfly dancers!!! Thanks Brett and keep up the hard work so us
old lazy house heads can feel young from time to time!!! Thank you to
everybody that made this event the wonderful time that it was!!!!!

I thought it was a great party.. MUCH better then last year... It was
lacking what last years had.. I was so happy.. the vibe was totally
dope.. most of the heads came out and it was awesome to talk about the
old times and how we are old and can't do what we used to do.. blah
blah.. hehe.. anywho.. the music was dope... all dj's played great!
Heather killed it with that Summertime remix on the real!

Great job Brett on a great party! I hope you are doing another one
next year!!

I too had a blast.

I arrived at the campground nice and early and met up with the
BodyrockDjs.. We chilled out and ate some sandwiches. and then at
4:30 PM I walked over to the honeycomb hideout and started my set.
The stage was right by the entrance and I could look over the fence
and see the line cued up. For some reason the fire marshal would not
let the gates open. So the first hour of my set was spent DJing to
the line outside. Every now and then I could hear the hoot or hollar.
Some i could see bouncing to my beat. Big cee and Slick walked over
and hung out and started yelling over the fence "Let them RAVE!!!"
and the whole line would yell in agreement. My set was 5 - 6:45 PM
and by the time 6PM rolled around there was probably about 300 people
in line. Finally a little after 6 the fire marshal allowed the gates
to open.. A steady stream of youngsters came rolling in. Lots of
little girl booty to feel guilty about looking at. lol. I finally
pulled around 30 people to the honeycomb hide out. Then handed it
over to Cee. I rushed over to hear the end of Easily Influenced and
saw gelly and mikey wiping themselves of sweat. They had a good crowd
of a few hundred people dancing and they handed it off to MArk Farina.
Who kept the house tip going for a few tracks. Then dropped into
his acid jazz set. This was great abut I wa a little worried the
crowd would get discouraged. But to my surprised it even grew. The
sun was low now and it was not so hot and we were shaking it on the
field to mark's great acid jazz set. Slowly he brought it up into
house and had people starting to shake it with more energy. When his
set ended I rushed over to the other stage to hear blakemore
immediately get the already rowdy thick crowd even rowdier. lol. I
think that stage had the best energy and the most people. Jason
continued to work the crowd up and I decided to walk around. I caught
some of slick and cee.. Then I traveled to some of the other stages
and areas and did some exploring. I guess I saw RAW re-emerge as some
new persona. The crowd was into it but I was not that into it. I
caught about 35 minutes of glitch mob and they killed it. THe crowd
seemed to know every track and sang along a lot. Heard some of
sneak. But I was super excited when heather went on and KILLED it.
I boogied untill she finished around 1:30 I think. But I bounced
between her's and wally's set. Then I rushed over to hear the
bodyrockdjs drop there techfunk. Then a rush back to hear doc close
the night out. By then I had been at the event 9 hours straight. I
was so tired I stlugged it back over to my camp site and had a turkey
sandwich and climbed into my tent and got butt naked and quickly fell
asleep.

I had a blast and loved playing the event. i can only hope that brett
will include me on the next one..

Many thanks to brett/B3 for having a hell of a party!!

Cade
