I am leaving Los Angeles in August!

For the last 4 years, I have been wrestling with the idea of getting my
PhD in  science education, with the goal of teaching at the university
level when I am done.  I feel that I am finally ready personally,
financially and professionally, and I've been offered a deal which I
simply can not turn down.

The University of Arkansas has offered me their TOP award: the
"Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship." This award guarantees free tuition
and a living stipend of $32,000 per year, none of which I have to pay
back.  They also will honor ALL of my graduate work from USC, allowing me
to complete the PhD program in three years or less (compared to 5-7 years
at other universities.)

"ARKANSAS?" You might be asking.  The director of the program there was my
advisor in my MSEd program at USC.  He started the program in Arkansas 4
years ago and has been trying to get me to come there ever since.  And
until now, I just wasn't ready...

Over the last 13 years, I have come to know LA as my HOME. I will MISS the
incredible comaraderie that I have experienced in LA during this time!!!!!

I hope to share many a dance floor with you all before I go!!!
