Euphonic but I had to skip out of town. . . but first come back with me in
time to my first Dynagroove experience won't you . . .
My virgin experience was back in August of 2000. A friend and I had
stumbled into the Coconut Teaser on a friday night. The club itself was very
bizarre. It was dark, smelly, and a hotter than shit; but I heard this
amazingly soulful uplifting music in the back room with this girl on the
tables (DJ Dazy). She was awesome. Then a girl handed me a mixtape Dj Dazy:
Dawn which I threw on immediately when I got home and I was in heaven. It
was my first tangible piece of the house world and it was mine!!!
As i recall, some other guy came on after her and he was incredible as
well, throwing down these amazing disco tracks I had never heard before that
just kept getting better and better with each song. It was a sound I had
never really heard before, but it was a sound I fell in love with. . . it was
the sound of dynagroove and DJ CADE.
Euphonic last Thursday totally brought me back to this first
incredible experience. People may have some negative words about the above
said DJ but personally I dont understand where they come from. If it wasn't
for that night back in August 2000 and for Cade and Dazy, I wouldn't be
going out 3 nights a week and immersing myself in the house culture, I
wouldnt be spending crazy cash on house music, I wouldnt have tons of new
househead friends, and I wouldn't be part of this dope Dynagroove listserve.
So all I gotta say is THANKS CADE and don't stop doing whatever your
doing cuz I gotta say you do it pretty damn well.
ciao, Chris
