May I say, this massive was actually good. Considering the wanna be ghetto thugs in the hip hop room, and the Etarded children in the progressive room, it was overall great. I too got in line around 530 and heard Cade spinning some funky stuff. Got me moving in line. Walked around, and the skate demo layout was pretty cool. It was interesting to see it indoors instead of outdoors like Audio usually did it. I headed to the drum and bass room when Mc Skibidee and Roni Size were up. GOOD GOSH! I forgot how good drum and bass sounded. I usually don't like dancing to it, but that set just blew me off! Good job to all of them! I headed on out to the progressive room. Like always, too congested, unpleasant air, and waay too many etards. Aside from that, I heard Dan spinning. I havent really been liking his recent style, but he actually got me moving too. He played some good choice of progressive tunes with still a little bit of some hard funk. Hip hop was actually pretty dope. Too bad A-trak only had a 5 minute performance. Money Mark and Q bert were ILL!!! MAN! I heard qbert...his performance was remarkable considering he only used one turntable and NO mixer to scratch! That guy always has new tricks up his sleeve. I wonder whats next. Mos Def was coo. I've seen him before with his band and Im not too into his rock style hip hop joint. He performs better with the good old DJ and himself. But he was still tight. Too bad black star did not perform. That wouldve been soo tight. I heard a couple of Kweli's joints though and he played some good jams. Did anyone see pete rock??? He was the only reason why I wanted to go to the hip hop room. Outkast performed at the end and they did pretty well. I have never seen them before live, but they pretty much rocked the stage with a lot of their old and new jams. Good for the commercial heads to hear, but bad for the other heads that want to hear their uncommercialized shit. The house room was off the hook. Audio always has a good house line up, which is the only reason I wanted to go. I dispise massives, but i'll give Audio and JuJu Beats and exception. Cade was ill. Yost was definately the man. I missed Roy's set. =( But I wouldnt be surpised if he tore it up. Mister King Britt really got me moving. He is never a let down. I can actually say I liked his set this year better than last time. The music at this party was absolutely astounding!! It was worth the money. Security was actually friendly, not bitchy like at a lot of other parties. Next party, they need to either cut down the amount of people, or switch rooms to have a comfort level of each area. If this many people are expected next year, atleast have MORE booths for water. =/ talk about waiting in line to buy a damn drink! And whats goin on with the $9 beer and nasty warm margaritas! Anyways, keep the funky beats bumping..
