Thanks to everyone for their suggestions....

Looks like I'll try the direct link approach, and then the free ftp space
services if that doesn't fly (Fly, Chicken, fly!).

PS: I couldn't stick the old HD in the new computer and make it a slave
because the old disk was partitioned, and there was no way for the new PC to
recognize the split (I tried really hard, and the folks at the Fujitsu said
it wouldn't work either).
