I've been under the impression that "Groo" IS the
family name (Life of Groo?).

remind me that Groo has no last name.  That has been my impression, but I
don't remember where I got it.  I thought I saw something along those lines,
but couldn't remember where.  I believe I can now re-read my "Life of Groo"
for confirmation.  Thanks.
