Almos all of the ads in the first 28 issues of MAD were non-MAD
related. However, the sporadic ads that have appeared SINCE then have
been MAD related (e.g., the Parker Brothers ads), although they were
     all "real" ads nonetheless.

BUT...does that really make it any different or better? If I
understood your argument against advertising, you think it reduces the
number of targets for MAD to lampoon since they are now beholden to
the advertisers (i.e., these advertisers are now off limits to MAD's
satire). Wasn't that still the case with Parker Brothers in the
1980s? Since MAD depended on Parker Brothers to sell their game,
wasn't MAD equally, if not moreso, beholden to Parker Brothers?

What about MAD being owned by Time Warner (which includes DC Comics)?
That's never stopped MAD from poking fun at DC Comics or Warner
Brothers movies and products! From an "integrity" standpoint, I just
don't see the difference between the 1980s Parker Brothers ads, MAD
being owned by Time Warner, and the new ads MAD has now started
     accepting.

     Mike S.

See, I wasn't counting those 'cause it's a MAD product. Have there been
many non-MAD related ads?
