[Groop]@#&!%$#@?!, Part 2

Two things:

1) For Windows 98, just hold down the Ctrl key to get the menu (rather than
the F8 fallacy)
2) Not all Microsoft patches are good. In particular some of the Outlook
patches may stop viruses from your e-mail, but they may also stop other
attachments that you want. I installed a patch that ended up blocking ALL
EXE attachments and I never was able to get one that was on the "up and up".

Okay, I'm off my soapbox now. Now back to your regular Groo scheduling...

OK, so I figure out how to delete the files. (You don't hold F8 to get to
Safe Mode, you tap it successively) Then, of course, the computer didn't
work right so I had to reinstall Widows 98 (don't laugh you anti-Microsoft
techies)

So now the virus is gone, the computer is running properly and all I have to
do is be responsible (finally) and buy an antivirus program. So I go with
McAfee Active Shield, but I can't get the darn thing to download!!!! I've
been on their tech support chat line three times today!!! I've deleted
stuff, I've gotten into that registry thing and deleted other stuff, I've
upgraded Internet Explorer to the right 5,5 version and it STILL won't
download the McAfee Agent program.

They finally decided there must be an antivirus program left from some other
time and they can't help me find it!!

ARGGHH!!!! Trying to put in an antivirus program is turning out to be a
bigger pain than getting rid of the damned virus!!!

HELP!!!!!
