[Groop]con mini report

Here’s my mini con report.  Here are the highlights:  Got Glen Shadix 
autograph, the mayor in nightmare before christmas (love that movie),  Got 
Sergio to sign everything I had, Met a bunch of groopies, The fast draw 
competition (Sergio was hilarious), The Futurama panel with Mat Groening, 
The Mad 50 year panel, Peter Kuper (spy vs. spy) was the mad guy Larry 
forgot, Meeting and getting a bracelet from Kaytee, Gave Stan Sakai an 
article written about him from when I was in Kauai, Met Gary’s wife and 
daughter, wife was nice as she could be even invited to stop by if I was 
ever up in the Washington area (Did you know that Gary?),  Groo panel, Mulch 
bars, and the highlight of the event was joining Larry and Gary while they 
escorted Sergio to the groo panel.

The low light was driving to the con on thursday from San Clement (normally 
about an hour away) and taking 5 hours to get to the con and I went straight 
for Sergio’s table and he just went on his break.

Also a plug for Mark’s book:  It is wonderful and great.  Didn’t get to read 
his columns when they were in the Comic Buyers Guide so the stories are all 
new to me.  I highly recommend it as long as you know who Jack Kirby is.
