I have often flown to California from Phoenix, and arrived shortly before I
left. Sadly, I haven't yet figured out how to see what numbers win the
lottery, and then buy a ticket an hour earlier.
If you think multiple time zones are confusing, how about Daylight Savings
Time? Especially when the rest of the country goes on DST, and Arizona does
not. Most of the year, Arizona is one hour later than California, except
when California goes on DST, then Arizona is the same time as California.
But not all of Arizona refuses DST. The Navajo indian reservation (the
largest indian reservation in the USA) goes on DST along with the rest of
the country, so even tho they are in the SAME time zone as me, part of the
year they are an hour different from me. Except for the Hopi indian
reservation which is INSIDE the Navajo indian reservation. The Hopi's go
along with the rest of Arizona, so there is one small town in the middle of
the Navajo indian reservation that is on a different time zone than the
surrounding countryside. I think that's why most Indians don't wear watches!
