Well, I apologize if you guys get this twice, I
THOUGHT I sent a message to The Groop around 4:00 am
EST this morning, but didn't find it in either my
Groop Inbox or my Sent Messages box, so I'm confused
(again!) 

Anyway, it was short and to the point (which means it
must have been a dream) but I know I can recreate
it...

I was restless and bored and unable to sleep so I
ended up reading the old Groo Chatless Chatroom
Archives, and was checking out our Classic Food Fray
Chat. It was fun reminiscing like that, so I figured
I'd include the link for anyone who felt like checking
it out (this seemed much more likely to me at 4am than
it does now...) The Food fray started about 7:00 PM
PST on March 4, 1998...

BE FOREWARNED, this is a BIG FILE so don't even
attempt it with a DIAL-UP MODEM!!!

It's also fun to just troll for familiar names and
check out some of what they had to say. The joke is,
it was VERY rare for 2 people to show up in the Groo
Chatless Chat Room at the same time, so most posts
consisted of someone logging on, attempting to start
up a conversation, then logging off. This made for
some fun soliloqueys as Groopies tried to entice
Lurkers to say something (Hint: there were apparently
NEVER any Lurkers). 

I especially enjoyed checking out some of the ancient
ramblings of Nate P., Demon Squirrel and my buddy
Unirabbit. 

At the time, I was posting under the moniker "Ambush
Bug" but eventually decided to give up using someone
else's fictional character as my nickname and instead
created my own unique persona, The Sheik of Entropy. I
dropped this alias after Sept. 11, as I no longer saw
any humor or innocence in a screenname that spoke to
Chaos and an Arabic Stereotype.

(By the way, the 4am version was nowhere NEAR this long...)
