Of course you are correct, and I have no doubt that
Mark realized that as well. However, too few people
realize that publishing a web page with copyrighted
material is the same as printing and distrubuting
copies of GROO yourself. It doesn't matter if you
profit from it or not, you are still violating
copyright, even when meant as a homage or tribute.
"jonthekingdon" did exactly the right thing when he
asked Mark's permission first, but OF COURSE The Groo
Crew HAVE to say no to such a request.
When I asked Mark & Sergio for permission to make the
OFFICIAL GROOP MEMBERSHIP CARDS (we're working on
it!!!), I made sure to ask for permission to make the
cards once I had an idea of The Groop's preferred
format. I also asked for permission to use the "Groo
climbing out of the computer" pic from Image 8 and
permission to quote the Definition of Mulching! BTW, I
will also be including proper copyright notices and
the legend "used by permission."
