I was wondering that for a bit myself.  But then I realised that no
matter who they get to do the voice of Groo, there's no way it's ever
going to sound like how Groo sounds in my head when I read it (for one
thing, I can't imagine Groo with an American accent, but it's pretty
much guaranteed he'll have one in the movie).  So now I'm just hoping
Sergio and ME pick someone who sounds right to them, so we can all get
an idea of how they hear Groo in their heads when they write it... 
And given that ME seems to know pretty much every capable voice actor
in the entire industry, I have no doubt that whoever they end up
getting will end up sounding both completely wrong and completely
right to me and everyone else, all at the same time.
