Hee hee, a Larry-in-the-Box is almost as good as a
Charlie-in-the-Box!
The reasons to attend this year's San Diego Comic Con
International, more importantly AKA GrooFest, are
always compelling but have absolutely been increasing
exponentially!
GrooFest! Sakai High Honors! June Foray! Schwartz
Memorial Panel! GrooFest! Godzilla 50th Anniversary!
Chuck McCann! QuickDraw! GrooFest! Cartoon Voices!
Oddball Slideshow! Jean Schulz (wife of Charles)
GrooFest! Jack Kirby Tribute! Groop Dining Madness!
Katye's Beadwork! GrooFest!
Of course, GrooFest this year includes all of the
Sergio and Mark stuff, most of our regular crew plus
bonus Groopers/Groopies too awesome and numerous to
mention without offending whoever I might have
forgetted!
Aaaaaaaaaaargghh!!!
Nope, no last-minute change of plans this year, I'm
just plain too broke!
I'll be eagerly awaiting the con reports, though, even
if each highlight will cause me to slap my forehead
with a resounding "DOH!!!"
At least this year I can miss the Sergio & Mark Show
from the comfort of, ummm, standing on my feet all day
at work. Ya know, that hot and sweaty storage unit
full of spanish language newspapers featuring buried
treasures is STILL better than work, hee hee!!! Gary,
it was a fun road trip, I DO wish we made it back in
time for the panel, but it WAS a fun road trip, so I
hereby let you off the hook for all the missed-panel
jokes, ok bud?
See you all in 2005, come hell or high water. In fact,
I'm buying a canoe just in case, so ya in '05 come
hell or more hell!
(Man I'm getting punchy!)
So, who will comitt the first Grooism?
